Welcome to Mater Dei Parish as we celebrate the
Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
1. We pray this week for the victims of Hurricane Helene.
2. Mass Coordinators are needed at St. Mary’s and St. Edwards. If you are
interested in being involved in this ministry or would like to learn what
is involved, please contact the parish office at (802) 476-9881 with your
name and phone number.
3. Raffle Tickets are now available for the Vocationist Fathers’ annual
50/50 raffle from any Vocationist priest or at the parish office in
Newport. Tickets are $5 each or buy a book of 6 tickets for $20 and get
2 free tickets. Proceeds support the Vocationists’ seminarian program.
4. The Diocesan Office of Worship will be offering a workshop for
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who bring Communion to
the sick and homebound on Wednesday, October 9th at St. Edward’s
from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and repeated from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Volunteers who are involved in this ministry are urged to attend. See
the bulletin for more information.
5. October is the month of the Holy Rosary. The Catholic Church dedicates
October to the Rosary because October 7th is the Feast of Our Lady of the
Rosary. We are encouraged to pray the Holy Rosary often during the
month.
